Ao fazer o balanço de quase meio século de estudos de mulher, coloca-se um dilema interessante. Vale a pena lutar mais cinqüenta anos para a integração, até agora não conseguida, das mulheres autoras no Cânone e na História da Literatura brasileira? Ou será que a própria ordem do seu discurso convencional impede a partilha desse espaço nacional privilegiado? Repensar funções e funcionamentos altamente politizados que tiveram nos séculos XIX e XX a historiografia das Literaturas nacionais e os cânones por ela estabelecidos, abre outros caminhos de outras historiografias e histórias para as quais uma arqueologia crítica do saber convencional, trazendo novas transgressões, subversões e descentramentos, permitirá esboçar novos itinerários.Abstract: Striking a balance of nearly fifty years of women’s studies, brings up an interesting dilemma. Should women fight fifty years more for the not yet realized integration of women-writers into the Canon and History of Brazilian Literature? Or should they realize that the order itself of its historiographical discourse makes the division or sharing of this privileged part of national territory impossible? Rethinking and questioning the highly politicized functions of literary historiography and its canons in the XIXth and XXth century, opens new ways of making historiography, history and canons, for which an archaeology of conventional knowledge brings up new transgressions, subversions and decentralizations and traces new itineraries.Keywords: Historiography; Order of discourse; Politics, Sexuality; Woman-author.

This articles presents aspects observed in poetry compositions of the Galician poet Silvia Penas and the performances of the poetic project Cinta Adhesiva. We use concepts of performance by Zumthor and terminology by Bakhtin, to discuss ideological aspects of poetry. Cinta Adhesiva politicizes its work and its poetics by way of using the Galician language and by incorporating feminist perspectives, thus contributing to cultural resistance and transformation through art.

[A1] “Exuberancia selvática” (Naval, 2010: 119), “maraña” (Prieto de Paula, 2010: 28), archipiélago de “poetas-isla” (Sánchez, 2015: 6), “convivencia sosegada de idearios” (Morante, 2016: 12), “diáspora” (Floriano y Rivero Machina, 2016: 225), “insobornable pluralidad” (Díaz, 2016: 11): son algunos de los términos y metáforas que la academia ha empleado a la hora de referir la multitud y variedad de autores y propuestas que desde hace quince años jalonan el escenario poético de la España actual. Puestos a elegir un concepto para proyectar y pensar este horizonte, nosotros preferimos, sin embargo, la imagen del desierto. Por dos motivos. Primero, porque este es un paisaje en permanente y rápida (re)construcción cuyo ecosistema resulta análogo al funcionamiento del campo poético, esto es: un espacio habitualmente considerado como un lugar inhóspito e inexplorado por unos pocos sujetos que en realidad se rige por unas dinámicas vertiginosas de visibilización/invisibilización que ocultan bajo la arena un gran registro de especies. En segundo lugar, porque, si cambiamos el foco de observación, la crítica (tanto por su cercanía temporal a los más recientes creadores como por la avalancha indiscriminada de publicaciones, editoriales y antologías de nuevos nombres, entre otros muchos motivos) todavía no ha abordado las dunas de la poesía actual con una visión global y panorámica. Sí ha dado constancia de su presumible diversidad, sobre todo a través de estudios parciales, aunque sin adentrarse en sus detalles. Somos conscientes, por tanto, de que este paraje puede parecer caótico, inconexo o efímero en un primer vistazo –de hecho, quizás lo sea, como la propia orografía de un desierto–. Ahora bien, creemos que un estudio sistemático podría revelar huellas, rutas y senderos sobre los que no se ha focalizado, e incluso destacar tendencias y puntos de inflexión en la poco transitada, pero bulliciosa, historia de la poesía española joven de los últimos años. En este sentido, los párrafos que siguen se ofrecen como un intento de exploración –y palimpsesto para futuros mapas– de sus coordenadas esenciales; también de las temporales.

A visibilidade da poesia de cordel esteve, tradicionalmente, associada às imagens masculinas, dotadas de discursos conservadores. O que não significa que as mulheres estavam ausentes deste universo literário, mas seus trabalhos não alcançavam a mesma projeção daqueles produzidos pelos homens. Apesar de, atualmente, termos proposto reflexões acerca da representatividade das mulheres em eventos, feiras, publicações e o reconhecimento da importância das poesias feitas por mulheres, ainda há constantes referências às mulheres de forma estigmatizada nos folhetos – nos versos, nas capas, nas palestras…

No mundo ocidental, são muitas as vozes que nos vão lembrando, de tempos a tempos, que já não sabemos encarar a morte com frontalidade e dignidade. Assumiu-se que falar da morte é produzir uma dor ou um mal-estar que colidem com os valores da nossa sociedade, cada vez mais voltada para o culto da beleza e da eterna juventude. Até sensivelmente às décadas de 70 ou 80 do século passado, a sociedade portuguesa, sobretudo a mais rural, não escondia dos mais novos as doenças, o envelhecimento e a morte dos entes queridos, e o cancioneiro infantil e juvenil era uma das grandes expressões e uma das fontes de todos estes temas. Hoje, estas são questões praticamente silenciadas, dir-se-ia até proibidas, e por isso muitas crianças são educadas sem o conhecimento da morte. Partindo destes pressupostos, abordaremos neste artigo a questão da morte na poesia oral e tradicional infantil portuguesa moderna e contemporânea. Veremos, em particular, se a morte aparece mais como personagem ou mais como acontecimento, refletiremos sobre os seus tipos e as suas incidências semânticas, simbólicas e pragmáticas, e discutiremos se vale a pena trazer estes textos para o contexto educativo.

A poesia oral não pode ser compreendida fora da estrutura social em que vive, nem o funcionamento da comunidade pode ser integralmente apreendido sem um conhecimento da sua poesia de transmissão oral. Por isso, neste estudo, influenciado pelo pensamento de José de Almeida Pavão Júnior e Paul Zumthor, procuramos demonstrar que uma abordagem séria da poesia oral não pode fixar-se unicamente no âmbito do literário, nem apenas nos seus aspectos culturais, antropológicos e sociológicos. A poesia oral, como as tradições em geral, só existe porque cumpre funções. Refletir sobre este aspecto é também pensar sobre o contexto social e cultural da performance literária, a idiossincrasia dos poetas-intérpretes e do grupo social, as diferentes espécies, a linguagem e o estilo, as circunstâncias da composição, da transmissão e da recepção dos textos.

The richness of contemporary poetry lies in the plurality of literary languages that comprise it. However, one of the most significant trends, that which descends in direct line from the vanguard, the Brazilian Concretism and the latest generation of poets of the risk, supposes that the boldest poetry of our time has broken the gender codes, with the notion of the ego (hence with the notion of lyricism), with the communicative function (producer of sense) of the language, etc. So, it stops speaking of poetry to retake other terms as writings, transtexts, linguistic islands, etc. This paper aims, from the current contributions of American (Perloff, Hoagland, Swensen, Burt), French (Meschonnic, Caron, Maulpoix) and Hispanic criticism, to rethink the notion of lyricism and tell about the writings of the ego in the face of the limit of gender.

The published works of Andi Nachon (Buenos Aires, 1970) comprise more than half a dozen single-authored collections of poetry, inclusion in several recent anthologies, and her own anthology of Argentine women poets. Her name appears in articles and works on recent poetry from Argentina, as in Diana Bellessi’s La pequeña voz del mundo. She also gives frequent readings on the Buenos Aires poetry circuit. Her work, though, lacks a sustained critical study. This is surprising. Nachon’s poetry occupies, in form and technique, a space between the dominant trends of 80s and 90s poetry – broadly speaking, the neobarroco and objectivismo – whilst her themes take in contemporary pop culture, political memory and resistance, and what might be termed the psychogeography of the city. Ambiguity – of subject or narrative position; of syntax; of geographical or physical position; and of gender – characterizes much of her work. For these and other reasons, a detailed reading of a selection of poems from throughout her career is somewhat overdue. This paper sets out to examine a number aspects of her poetry: the context from which her earliest work emerges; its development of novel forms of address, in relation to comparable near-contemporary poets; explorations of space, including a form of psychogeography, in both her early collections and her volume Taiga (2000); the subtle political engagements found in her poetry, including a later collection Plaza real (2004); before looking at her most recent poetry and its interaction with non-poetic forms. Questions of the lyric and what has been called by Baltrusch and Lourido (2012) and Casas (2012), amongst others, “non-lyric poetry”, are central to these analyses.

Desde que Serge Doubrovsky definiu na súa novela de 1977, Fils, a categoría “autoficción” até a súa recuperación serodia desde o ámbito da narrativa –revisada na península por teóricos como J. M. Pozuelo Yvancos ou Manuel Alberca–, son múltiplas as aplicacións e reflexións arredor desa modalidade pretendidamente transxenérica. Certas modulacións presentes no discurso poético, como a aparición do nome da autora ou un entretecido poemático de datos procedentes da súa biografía, permiten trasladar esa tensión entre o biográfico e o ficcional aos textos.

Este volumen nace con el propósito de producir conocimiento crítico sobre las prácticas poéticas en el espacio público, sus funciones y su eficacia dentro de éste. A la inestabilidad funcional de la poesía y lo lírico en la actualidad se une la noción de espacio público, entendida tanto desde su vertiente conceptual, filosófica y social, como desde su vertiente material, física, ligada a la (re)presentación escénica. Espacios, sujetos e instituciones se redefinen de la mano de esta combinación. Así, la inclusión de la espacialidad en una teoría poética actualizada, la constitución de nuevos sujetos y subjetividades y la identificación de públicos y prácticas en torno a los conceptos de performatividad e intervención constituyen los vectores fundamentales de este libro. Sin acotación de ningún tipo en términos lingüísticos, nacionales o interartísticos, los trabajos aquí recogidos se reparten entre lo teórico-crítico y metodológico, los estudios de caso y las reflexiones en primera persona, teniendo como objetivo último la valoración de la incidencia de la poesía en el espacio público y sus efectos socio-políticos.

The article presents the celebrated peleja (verse exchange) between Inácio da Catingueira and Romano da Mãe d'Água in the Brazilian North-East. The polemic peleja de cordel (a kind of chapbook), which evokes a poetic contest that allegedly took place in 1874 or 1875 in Recife, is regarded as the first of a kind that forms one of the most important phases in Brazilian cordel literature. On the one side stands a slave poet and on the other a landowner; each aims to defend and to characterize the race and social class to which he belongs. The article aims to demonstrate the influence of scientific thinking in popular literature, particularly with regard to ethnic and cultural miscegenation.

Poetry began as a spoken art and remains one to this day, but readers tend to view the poem on the page as an impenetrable artifact. This book examines the performance of poetry to show how far beyond the page it can travel. Exploring a range of performances from early twentieth-century recitations to twenty-first-century film, CDs, and Internet renditions, Beyond the Page offers analytic tools to chart poetry beyond printed texts.Jill S. Kuhnheim, looking at poetry and performance in Spanish America over time, has organized the book to begin with the early twentieth century and arrive at the present day. She includes noteworthy poets and artists such as José Martí, Luis Palés Matos, Eusebia Cosme, Nicomedes Santa Cruz, Pablo Neruda, César Vallejo, and Nicolás Guillén, as well as very recent artists whose performance work is not as well known. Offering fresh historical material and analysis, the author illuminates the relationship between popular and elite cultural activity in Spanish America and reshapes our awareness of the cultural work poetry has done in the past and may do in the future, particularly given the wide array of technological possibilities. The author takes a broad view of American cultural production and creates a dialogue with events and criticism from the United States as well as from Spanish American traditions.Oral and written elements in poetry are complementary, says Kuhnheim, not in opposition, and they may reach different audiences. As poetry enjoys a revival with modern media, performance is part of the new platform it spans, widening the kind of audience and expanding potential meanings. Beyond the Page will appeal to readers with an interest in poetry and performance, and in how poetry circulates beyond the page. With an international perspective and dynamic synthesis, the book offers an innovative methodology and theoretical model for humanists beyond the immediate field, reaching out to readers interested in the intersection between poetry and identity or the juncture of popular-elite and oral-written cultures.

La obra de Miguel Hernández, vapuleada y amada en igual medida tanto en su época como con posterioridad a su muerte, circulo en la posguerra apenas o nada: publicada fragmentariamente y por editoriales foráneas, por ejemplo Losada, de origen argentino, y sesgada por la censura, como la propia vida del autor, la misma no contaba con dimensiones precisas, ni mucho menos constituía una producción ordenada y fijada por la crítica especializada. No obstante, el tardío franquismo no pudo impedir el regreso lento pero sostenido del interés por el poeta y su apremiante reivindicación. El espesor intimista y combativo de sus poemas encontraron un paradigma transparente, por citar el caso más representativo, en el álbum que Joan Manuel Serrat dedica al oriolano en 1972.

Tomam-se como corpora três folhetos de literatura de cordel para discutir sobre os modos de construção do conceito de identidade política, sua relação com a memória social e discursiva, os discursos repetíveis, os deslizamentos e as subversões de sentido. A análise de discurso considera que a identidade é um movimento que se faz na história e que, por isso, dá-se entre unidade e dispersão: refere-se às posições do sujeito, as chamadas identidades de posicionamento, e às suas filiações aos interdiscursos. O suporte teórico respalda-se em autores, tais como Michel Pêcheux, Dominique Maingueneau, Roberto DaMatta, Karina Kuschnir e Max Weber, que contribuem com reflexões pertinentes sobre o conceito de identidade política. Abstract: Three papers of the cordel literature were taken as "corpora" in order to discuss about the ways of building the concept of political identity, its relation with the social and discursive memories, with the repeatable discourses, with the slides and with the subversions of the senses. The discourse analysis considers that the identity is a movement made in history and, therefore, between unity and dispersion: it refers to the positions of the subject, what is known as “identities of position”, and its filiations to the inter-discourses. The theoretical support is based on authors such as Dominique Maingueneau, Roberto DaMatta, Karina Kuschnir and Max Weber who also contribute with pertinent considerations about the concept of political identity.

This book explores the themes of displacement, exile and migration in the work of the most important Argentine poets since the 1950s. The book outlines the poetry of key authors in the second half of the twentieth century as well as writing by younger poets at the turn of the century. It includes generous selections of the original poems with new translations into English by the author.

After centuries of symbolic and political oppression, Galicia has been recognized by the Spanish constitution as a historic nationality. However, despite a certain degree of political autonomy, Galician identity is threatened by increasing homogenization in the economic, social, cultural and linguistic fields. In the early 1990s the aesthetic movement Bravú constructed an aesthetic community, sustained by an ideological project, and with the aim to, on the one hand, prevent Galician culture from becoming folklore stuck in a time warp and, on the other hand, to validate Galician identity. The Bravú artists refused the historically inherited outsider position and contributed to a reinvention of Galician identity and of a political ideal within a cosmopolitan, internationalist framework and by reversing social stigmas through their works and performances.

Centred around Antonio Gramsci's concept of hegemony, this paper employs a critical globalisation theory framework to argue that the 1990s notion of ‘changing the world from below', understood as resistance to capitalist globalisation through a ‘transnational civil society', requires re-theorisation in the light of the contemporary developments in Our America. I make a methodological case for a neo-Gramscian approach to argue that ‘counter-hegemony', together with an adequate theorisation of the state and power, should be the preferred concept over the inherently apolitical and under-theorised ‘alter-globalisation'. Whilst the alter-globalisation movement's ideational and normative challenges to hegemony (captured in ex-British prime minister Thatcher's There-Is-No-Alternative-Doctrine, TINA) are undisputed, the transformation of the global geographies of power through local actors alone has remained illusory. Rather, the experience of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-PTA) strongly suggests that counter-hegemonic globalisation theory will have to consider the roles of both the ‘state-in-revolution' and the ‘transnational organised society'. This will be shown through the analysis and theorisation of the ALBA-PTA as a multi dimensional inter and transnational counter-hegemonic regionalisation and globalisation project that operates across a range of sectors and scales.

The concept of ‘resistance' has turned into a critical tool in different areas of political, philosophical and sociological thought. At the same time, the notion seems to be as productive as it is diffuse. ‘Resistance' is used in very specific contexts in scientific or technical disciplines, and with extreme flexibility in social and cultural studies. In the latter two areas, the concept is often used without prior reflection on its characteristics and limitations. In What is Philosophy?, Deleuze provides a possible framework for conceiving cultural and political practices of resistance as positions of force, when he defines contraction as ‘a contemplation that preserves the preceding in the following'. The purpose of this article is to understand political ecologism in its activist and poetical dimensions, in light of a Deleuzian interpretation of resistance.
